The Sun Temple, also known as Konark, is believed to have been built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I. The temple was conceived as a massive chariot for the Sun God, Surya, reflecting India’s rich mythological heritage.

The entire temple is designed as a colossal chariot with 12 pairs of intricately carved stone wheels and seven galloping horses. Each wheel functions as a sundial, allowing visitors to tell time with astonishing precision.
