This temple is considered to be of the time of 300 AD. The significance of this temple is mentioned in ancient scriptures such as Varaha Purana.

This temple is also called as the Vaikuntha of Kaliyuga. Here Lord Shree Hari Vishnu resides as Venkateshwara to protect his devotees from the effect of Kali Yuga.

According to one story Lord Venkateswara wanted to marry Padmavati so he borrowed money from Kubera that debt was later repaid to Kuber through the donations made to this temple.

The famous laddus of this temple is the most sought prasad. Over 1,75,000 laddus are prepared daily. The laddus of this temple also holds a GI tag.

As a sign of devotion, the devotees offer their hairs at the Tirupati Temple. Around 500Kg of hairs are collected every day which are then used to make wigs, and this is how a multi-million-rupee industry also operates through this temple.

The temple is located in the Tirumala range which consists of od seven hills. It is believed that each hill symbolizes one sapta rishi. Hanuman and Garuda are also said to be associated here.

You can observe that the temple priests constantly wipe sweat on the forehead of the shrine of Lord Venkateswara. It is actually a mysterious feature of this feature as to no one knows how and from where the drop of sweat appears.
