The Legend of Tripurantaka

These cities were made of gold, silver, and iron and revolved in the heavens, earth, and the underworld. The boon also dictated that these cities could only be destroyed simultaneously when aligned in a straight line, and by a single arrow.
The demons, empowered by their invincible cities, began spreading chaos and destruction. Disturbed by their tyranny, the gods approached Lord Shiva for help. Taking the form of Tripurantaka, Shiva mounted a colossal chariot created by the gods. The earth served as the chariot, the sun and moon as its wheels, and Lord Vishnu transformed into the arrow.
As the three cities aligned, Shiva released the divine arrow, destroying Tripura instantly.
